SAIL Secures ‘Great Place to Work’ Certification for Third Consecutive Year

NEW DELHI – Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), the Maharatna steel giant, has been officially certified as a Great Place to Work for the period February 2026 to February 2027. This marks the third consecutive year the PSU has received this prestigious global recognition, following a rigorous company-wide assessment of its workplace culture and employee trust.

The certification, announced on January 29, 2026, reflects a notable rise in SAIL's Trust Index© score, driven by positive feedback from its vast workforce regarding credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.

Driving HR Transformation: SAIL DARPAN

The latest recognition is largely attributed to SAIL's focus on modernizing its Human Resource framework. A centerpiece of this transformation is SAIL DARPAN, a digital HR initiative launched in late 2025.

• Alignment: Ensures individual employee goals are directly synchronized with the organization’s strategic objectives.

Academic Partnerships and Domain Mobility

To foster a "future-ready" executive cadre, SAIL has entered into multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with India’s premier management institutes. These partnerships offer unique domain-change opportunities, allowing technical executives to pivot into roles like Marketing or HR.

• Partner Institutes: IIM Bangalore, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Jammu, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, XLRI Jamshedpur, and ASCI Hyderabad.
• Focus Areas: Specialized executive education, research, leadership development, and capacity building.
• Recent Milestone: In September 2025, SAIL signed a major two-year agreement with IIM Bangalore specifically for tailored leadership interventions and benchmarking with global best practices.
