Parliamentary Committee Reviews Rajbhasha Implementation at NHPC Headquarters
FARIDABAD – The Second Sub-Committee of the Parliamentary Committee on Official Language conducted a high-level inspection of NHPC Limited on January 19, 2026. The visit, held at the company’s Corporate Office in Faridabad, focused on evaluating the progress and effectiveness of Rajbhasha Hindi implementation within the Navratna power major.
The inspection was attended by the top leadership of NHPC, including:
- Shri Bhupendra Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD)
- Shri Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel)
- Shri Naveen Kumar Jain, Executive Director (Human Resources)
- Shri Sanjeev Kumar, General Manager (PR & Official Language)
Review of Official Language Initiatives
During the meeting, the Parliamentary Committee performed a comprehensive audit of NHPC's efforts to promote Hindi in day-to-day administrative and technical work. The leadership team provided a detailed presentation on the various incentives, workshops, and digital tools deployed to encourage Hindi usage among employees.
Before the formal review, the Committee members toured an Official Language Implementation Exhibition. This showcase highlighted NHPC's national-level accolades, including the recently won Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar, and displayed various Hindi-related publications and communication best practices.
Release of ‘Rajbhasha Jyoti’
A key highlight of the event was the official release of the latest edition of ‘Rajbhasha Jyoti’, NHPC’s premier in-house Hindi magazine. The journal, which has been consistently recognized by the Ministry of Home Affairs for its quality, serves as a primary vehicle for promoting linguistic diversity and creative writing within the organization.
The Parliamentary Committee expressed satisfaction with NHPC’s commitment to the Official Language Policy, noting that the organization successfully balances its role as a leader in hydropower generation with its responsibility toward national linguistic integration.
