NEW DELHI – RailTel Corporation of India Ltd., a Navratna PSU, has further expanded its digital footprint by securing a strategic work order from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). The contract, valued at approximately ₹15.99 crore, was officially awarded on January 13, 2026.

Strengthening National Digital Infrastructure

The project underscores RailTel's growing expertise in providing secure and scalable cloud solutions for critical government regulatory bodies. The scope of the "Domestic Services Contract" focuses on:

  • Cloud Services: Providing the necessary cloud environment to host and manage FSSAI’s digital applications.
  • Infrastructure Hosting: Ensuring high availability and data security for food safety regulatory systems.
  • Long-Term Managed Operations: The contract features a multi-year execution timeline, with completion scheduled for January 5, 2029.

Financial and Strategic Highlights

The specific contract value is fixed at ₹15,99,31,980. In its regulatory disclosure to the stock exchanges, RailTel confirmed that the award follows standard transparent procurement processes and does not involve any related party transactions.

This win comes on the heels of several other high-profile ICT orders for RailTel, including recent infrastructure projects for the PFMS. Analysts note that such steady, long-term service contracts provide the PSU with high-margin recurring revenue and solidify its position as a preferred "Cloud First" partner for the Government of India.

With this partnership, FSSAI aims to leverage RailTel's robust "Meghraj" empaneled cloud services to enhance its operational efficiency and digital transparency in food safety monitoring across the country.
