NEW DELHI – Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level virtual meeting with Chief Ministers to review India's preparedness as the conflict in the Middle East impacts global supply chains.

Invoking the "Team India" spirit used during the pandemic, the Prime Minister urged states to coordinate closely with the Centre to ensure energy security and the steady supply of essential commodities. He directed state administrations to activate control rooms, prevent hoarding, and monitor fertilizer distribution ahead of the Kharif season.

Key priorities identified during the session included:

  • Market Stability: Strict action against profiteering and ensuring smooth maritime operations.
  • Citizen Welfare: Setting up helplines and nodal officers for families of Indians currently in the Gulf.
  • Information Security: Cracking down on misinformation and online fraud to prevent public panic.

The Prime Minister confirmed that an Inter-Ministerial Group has been conducting daily reviews since March 3 to manage the dynamic situation and protect the national economy.
