Iran Vows to Fight "As Far as Necessary" Amid Global Oil Crisis

TEHRAN — Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned Monday that the Islamic Republic is prepared for a prolonged regional war, as Tehran launched fresh strikes across the Gulf. The conflict has crippled the Strait of Hormuz, causing global oil prices to skyrocket by nearly 50%.

Major Conflict Updates:

  • Regional Strikes: Iran’s Revolutionary Guards targeted military bases in the UAE and Bahrain, alongside strikes toward Tel Aviv. A drone attack near Dubai Airport disrupted global travel, while oil infrastructure in Fujairah was set ablaze.
  • Ground War in Lebanon: Israel has launched "limited ground operations" in southern Lebanon to push back Hezbollah, following the group's massive rocket barrages toward Israeli territory.
  • Hormuz Standoff: With one-fifth of global crude supply choked off, President Donald Trump has called on world powers, including China and the UK, to send warships to escort tankers, warning that a refusal would be "very bad for the future of NATO."

Humanitarian & Economic Toll

The UN reports up to 3.2 million people have been displaced within Iran due to US and Israeli retaliatory strikes. Despite a 17-day internet blackout and heavy casualties, Tehran remains defiant, with Araghchi labeling any talk of a ceasefire "delusional" until Iran’s defensive goals are met.
