PUDUCHERRY — In a bold electoral debut, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), led by actor-turned-politician Vijay, has officially announced its decision to contest the Puducherry Legislative Assembly elections independently.

The party released its full list of 30 candidates on Sunday, choosing to bypass traditional alliances for the upcoming polls on April 9. This move signals TVK's intent to establish itself as a standalone force against the established AINRC-BJP and DMK-Congress blocs.
