NLC India Achieves Full Commissioning of 300 MW Barsingsar Solar Project

BIKANER – NLC India Limited (NLCIL), the Navratna power major, has reached a defining milestone in its green energy transition. On January 24, 2026, the company successfully commissioned the third and final phase (141.17 MW) of its 300 MW Barsingsar Solar Power Project in Rajasthan.

With this final addition, the entire 300 MW capacity is now commercially operational, making it one of the largest solar installations in NLCIL’s growing portfolio.

Phased Commissioning Timeline

The project was executed under the CPSU Scheme of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), which mandates the use of domestically manufactured components.

Strengthening "Atmanirbhar Bharat"

A standout feature of the Barsingsar project is its alignment with the Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) initiative. The plant exclusively utilizes domestically manufactured, high-efficiency solar PV modules. By reducing reliance on imported technology, NLCIL is directly supporting the indigenous renewable manufacturing ecosystem.

The entire power generated—estimated at approximately 750 million units annually—will be supplied to the State of Rajasthan, assisting the state in meeting its Renewable Purchase Obligations (RPO).

Impact on NLC India’s Portfolio

The completion of this project significantly elevates NLCIL's standing as a diversified energy major.
