NEW DELHI – On February 4, 2026, the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) was honored with the Silver award for "Excellence for Women in Green Energy and Energy Efficiency" at the 6th Green Urja Awards.

Presented by the Indian Chamber of Commerce, the award recognizes IREDA’s commitment to gender diversity and leadership in the clean energy sector.

Key Highlights

• Workforce Diversity: Women now make up 23% of IREDA's workforce, a record high among CPSEs (where the average is just 9.5%).
• Leadership Focus: Nearly all female employees at IREDA hold managerial or executive roles, supported by specialized health and safety initiatives.
• Financial Strength: The award comes amid a strong Q3 FY26, with IREDA reporting a 37% jump in net profit (₹585 crore) and a growing loan book of ₹87,975 crore.
