12 Stations on Prayagraj–DDU Corridor to be Redeveloped

PRAYAGRAJ — Indian Railways has launched a major redevelopment of 12 stations along the Prayagraj–DDU Junction route. This project runs parallel to the construction of a third railway line, aimed at increasing train speeds to 160 kmph.

Key Infrastructure Upgrades

  • Modern Station Buildings: All 12 stations will feature new buildings with modern amenities and dual-side entry to reduce congestion.
  • New Platforms: Each station will receive a dedicated platform for the upcoming third line.
  • Enhanced Connectivity: New and widened Foot Over Bridges (FOBs) are being installed across the stretch.
  • Stations Identified: Includes Meja Road, Manda Road, Jigna, Gaipura, and Dagmagpur, among others.

Work is already complete at Karchana and Mirzapur, which now feature newly built station buildings and FOBs as part of the semi-high-speed corridor strengthening.
