SBI Raises ₹6,051 Crore via Tier 2 Bonds at 7.05% Interest

MUMBAI — The State Bank of India (SBI) has successfully raised ₹6,051 crore through its second Tier 2 bond issuance of the current 2025-26 fiscal year. The issue saw robust demand, attracting bids nearly double the base offering of ₹5,000 crore.

Key Issuance Details

  • Coupon Rate: 7.05% per annum.
  • Tenor: 10 years, featuring a call option after five years.
  • Investor Profile: The round saw participation from 47 institutional investors, including provident funds, pension funds, mutual funds, and banks.
  • Capital Purpose: The funds will be utilized to strengthen the bank’s capital adequacy ratio and support its long-term credit growth.

This successful mop-up follows SBI's previous infrastructure bond and Tier 1 issuances earlier this year, reflecting strong investor confidence in India's largest lender despite global market volatility.
