Mazagon Dock General Manager Chintamani Latkar Retires; MDL Notifies Stock Exchanges of Leadership Change

MUMBAI – Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), India’s leading defense public sector shipyard, announced on Wednesday that Shri Chintamani Latkar, General Manager and a veteran of the senior management team, has officially retired from the company.
The Mumbai-headquartered shipbuilder, known as the "Shipbuilder to the Nation," confirmed the transition in a regulatory filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE). According to the disclosure, Mr. Latkar’s retirement became effective on December 31, 2025, upon his attaining the age of superannuation.
The announcement was made in strict compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, which ensures transparency for investors regarding changes in key management personnel.
During his tenure as General Manager, Shri Latkar was a central figure in overseeing some of the most complex maritime defense projects in the country. MDL is currently at the forefront of India’s naval modernization, handling the construction of sophisticated Kalvari-class submarines and advanced stealth frigates for the Indian Navy.
The official compliance statement was signed by Lalatendu Acharya, MDL’s Company Secretary and Compliance Officer. While the Mini-Ratna Category-I company has not yet named a direct successor for the General Manager post, the shipyard indicated that internal administrative protocols are in place to ensure that strategic projects under the ‘Make in India’ initiative continue without interruption.
