IDFC First Bank Settles Chandigarh Branch Claims

MUMBAI — IDFC First Bank has finalized its reconciliation regarding the Chandigarh branch incident, paying out a total net principal of ₹645 crore.
This final figure is ₹55 crore higher than the bank's initial estimate of ₹590 crore. The lender confirmed that all relevant accounts have been reconciled and no further discrepancies or fresh claims have been reported across its national network since February 25.

- Total Deposits: ₹2,92,381 crore (as of Feb 28, 2026).
- Liquidity: The bank maintains a healthy Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) of 114% for the current quarter.
The bank stated it will continue to aggressively pursue recovery from the perpetrators of the incident while ensuring all affected clients have been compensated according to its stated policy.
