LUCKNOW – The Uttar Pradesh government executed a significant administrative reshuffle on March 31, 2026, transferring 27 IPS officers across key districts and commissionerates. The move, spanning the 2004 to 2022 batches, aims to streamline law enforcement in Lucknow, Noida, and Varanasi.
Key Appointments & Shifts:
- Senior Leadership: Chandra Prakash (2004) moves from IG, Training to IG, Security (UP).
- District Changes: Shakti Mohan Avasthy is the new SP, Maharajganj, while Aditya Lange takes charge as SP, Firozabad.
- City Commissionerates: Dr. Deeksha Sharma and Amit Kumar Anand have both been appointed as DCPs in the Lucknow Commissionerate.
- Specialized Units: Shyam Narayan Singh has been named Commandant, SDRF (Lucknow), and Vinay Kumar Singh moves to SP, Jalaun.
Strategic Focus:
The reorganization prioritizes filling critical gaps in the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) and city units. By rotating seasoned officers into crime and security roles while giving younger officers district commands, the state aims to enhance operational efficiency and ground-level responsive policing.
