MUMBAI – In a historic administrative shift, senior IAS officer Ashwini Bhide has been appointed as the Municipal Commissioner of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Taking charge on March 31, 2026, she becomes the first woman to lead India’s wealthiest civic body, succeeding Bhushan Gagrani following his retirement.
